Frederick Douglass Ch.1-4
In chapters one through four there are many cruel things that happen. Frederick Douglass experienced many brutal tortures given to the slaves around him. A slave named Demby refused to get out of the creek after threee calls and was shot by a coldhearted master, named Mr. Gore. Mr. gore was a young overseer, but he made no jokes, and seldom smiled. Another overseer, Mr.Giles Hicks’s wife was also a cold murderer. She murdered Fredericks’s wife’s cousin, by breaking her nose and breastbone witha stick. This autobiography by Frederick Douglass is very intense, and gives an image of what his life was like

Darfur Press Release
Dear Councilmember Trachtenberg,
I think that if we get more people in America aware of the things happening in Darfur, then more people will help and divest money to help. Over 400,000 people have killed and many more have been raped or mained from their homes. This is something that would definetly fet the people of America motivated to do something.
The ‘ Who’s Darfur Syndrome ” is really affecting America and there is little media coverage of Darfur. In June 2005 CBS ran 50 times over Michael Jackson, than Darfur and probably mentioned Darfur once. Montgomery county is one of the most diverse places in the world and has always promoted ethnic tolerance and justice. So, we could divest money to help Darfur.
