The puppy was small and fuzzy — and Ricky was afraid of him, because he was attacked by a dog when he was just a child. Then when a stray puppy comes around the farm, Ricky tells it to go away. But the puppy keeps trying to play with Ricky. And every time Ricky’s mom feeds the cats, the little dog comes running towards the cats.The cats didn’t share their food, and the poor pup is slowly starving. Then one night, Ricky was getting ready to go to bed , he heard something . Then he realizes that the noise was coming from the garage. So he took his dad’s flashlight and went to the garage. When he looked inside he saw the puppy lying there in the garage. The dog was skinny and weak and looked like he just gave up on life. At first, Ricky was afraid to go inside. Then, he realized that the dog was motherless and hungry , so he felt some compassion for it. He got some food scraps and a bowl of water for the puppy . The puppy didn’t respond one bit. So, Ricky forced the dog to eat. Then, Ricky realized that he was getting comfortable with the puppy. He decided that he wanted to keep the puppy. He asked his parents if he could and they agreed. Since every time his mom called the cats, the puppy came running , he decided to name the puppy kitty.The protagonist is Ricky and the antagonist is the fear he had for dogs.
